Cool is just a fancy way of saying I manage to hide the parts where I was stupid

Most of the people are really embarrassed of their families. Mothers mushy calling, fathers being over-dramatic and siblings being their normal stupid self. People find it embarrassing in front of public. But no sir not me. Because I embarrass myself enough to be actually bothered by what my family does.
I was randomly going through my blog and reading old posts. Because that is what you do when you are supposed to be studying for exams. At first it felt really good. Some even made me laugh. But boy just when I started with the really old ones, the ones which I wrote when I started blogging my expression drastically changed from a smile to OMFG-IS-THIS-REALLY-ME? And I thought only the facebook timeline was embarrassing.
Apart from some really really bad ones I figured I wouldn't delete them because however funny and shameful they are, they are part of who I was. And it's a part of growing up.
Ha. growing up, ain't easy. And, i feel the same, when if i see my previous posts in the present blog . 1 yr down the line, do you think we'll laugh at this one too :P And, the layout is soooper. Sach. Did u change it again ?? ;)
ReplyDeleteYes I think we would. Tabhi toh I didnt delete. Because then how will I ever know how stupid and weird I was down the line.
DeleteAnd the layout I didn't change. For now.
Your are definitely not the only one. For me, it reaches far beyond FB timeline and old blog posts. Try imagining three fully scribbled diaries, overflowing with not only emotional crap but poetry (the days when I knew not a damn thing about poems), tons and tons of creepy poetry, doodles. Hahaha. But no, however horribly embarrassing they are and will remain so, I won't delete them. If only as a reminder of distant times, I plan to keep them all (HIDDEN!).
ReplyDeleteOMG that is so me. THe diaries part. Imagine having filled a diary with gay crap of how I was in love with how this senior of mine smelled during high school. My first crush. And then scribbling my name with his last name all over the notebook. I have all that too. Hidden ofcourse. Because if anyday someone does find all of it I'll have to change my name and country.
DeleteP.S. - I love the Dexter pic. :D
ReplyDeleteP.S : I know right. B)

I know the feeling. I had diaries with weird, cheesy things too. X_X
DeleteLOL I feel the same about some of my very old posts too! You're right about keeping them there as proof of growing up.

ReplyDeleteAbout the post! Yeah, I feel there is no need to get embarrassed as we shed our hard earned incomes in movie halls to see these embarrassing moments to make us laugh. Why not enjoy our own funny lives!;)
